AVOID! I received as a present from my partner and they are extremely pushy with add on sales saying "you will need all these extra treatments" etc. I was naive and purchased extra sessions (300!) that is not good value. I do not want the sessions so asked for a refund which they refused. I think they also do a shoddy job on purpose so that you HAVE to keep going back for more sessions when my friends have gone to other clinics and this is not the case. I have seen no improvement at all. Also they have terrible communication I have contacted three times about my appointments and they have just ignored me.
I have had a course of 11 out if 12 sessions of laser hair removal at Manchester branch of VG medi. Despite me saying that I did not think it was working, I was told by Dee that I needed a third course (another 6 sessions) and I felt I was pressurised with all the sales talk to buy it in advance of the treatment. So a month later I completed my 12th session and was booked to have my 1st session out of 6. I then had to have surgery due to an unrelated condition and came in before my surgery to VG salon in Manchester asking for a refund to the 6 sessions because I would be immobile for 3 months so could not come for treatment. Guess what I was told. That because 14 days have passed since I paid (forced to pay in advance more like!), they cannot refund the money! They said, contact customer services by email, they could help to resolve the issue because clearly I had exceptional circumstances. So I emailed the customer services. Even attached confirmation of my surgery from my surgeon. Then emailed again. Then again. NO response, NO acknowledgement. NO communication whatsoever. They owe me 500+ for the treatment I have not had and do not even bother to acknowledge a complaint! AVOID THIS PLACE as they will keep your money and blank you out if you have any issues with the treatment.
This branch is not worth the 1 star given. Since the new management has taken over the place has gone down hill in my opinion. 2 of the best staff have left replaced with trainees. They put you in uncomfortable position after each treatment forcing you to have extras. They purposely put the temperature lower so more sessions are needed. Please can someone provide a number for the head office. I have emailed the customer care team who doesnt grt back to you either.
I originally bought 6 sessions for laser hair removal on groupon, and then continued to buy more sessions after this, thus having spent a lot of money here!! The staff are always trying to persuade you to buy more sessions or buy other treatments and this can become quite annoying. In addition, they sell you the laser sessions by telling you that you will need more sessions, and that if you dont end up needing more on a certain body area, you can use the sessions for a different area. Thus, I bought 6 more sessions for my underarms as I was told I would need them, in the end I did not need them and wanted to use them on my bikini line as I was moving to another city and I wanted to use up my sessions as to not waste them. They wouldn't let me change even though they sold me the sessions on this premise, promising me that I would be able to use up the sessions on another body area. Very disappointed as I have spent a lot of money here!!!
1000% wouldnt recommend I paid for 6 sessions of laser hair removal and what a complete waste of money that was after 6 sessions I would say the hair growth actually increased and due to shaving had grown thicker and more noticeable in places I hadnt usually noticed it before, as well as this my skin broke out a lot leaving me with serious acne and scarring which has now subsided after a few months of no longer getting the treatment. I complained about this and one of the advisors had the cheek to tell me that the other staff dont know what theyre doing with darker skin and if I was to buy more sessions she would see to it that I get proper treatment, rather than doing the noble thing and giving me free sessions since she stated herself the staff didnt know what they were doing and that is not my fault I paid and shouldnt have to pay more money because of their lack of training.
